The Project Manager in the Scaffolding Division will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of scaffolding projects while actively contributing to business development efforts. This role also includes estimating project costs, preparing comprehensive bid packages, and delivering projects on time and within budget. You will collaborate closely with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure project success and drive the growth of the division.

This position is based out of Southern Ontario.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead scaffolding projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that all work is carried out in line with industry regulations, safety standards, and project timelines.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of scaffolding crews, subcontractors, and other site personnel to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Track and report on project progress, ensuring that milestones are achieved, and deadlines are met.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and adjust schedules as necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, providing updates, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and client outreach.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and industry partners to foster repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare compelling proposals that highlight the division’s capabilities and meet client needs.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote the company’s scaffolding services and expand market presence.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for scaffolding projects, considering labor, materials, equipment, and any other project-specific expenses.
  • Prepare detailed bid packages, including scope of work, timelines, pricing, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Review project costs throughout the execution phase, identifying any variances and implementing corrective measures to maintain budget integrity.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business unit and corporate objectives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client engagement, proposal writing, and team collaboration
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills to manage teams effectively and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of various scaffolding systems, erection and dismantling procedures, sequencing, troubleshooting, and project timelines.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, project owners, design teams, supervisors, subcontractors, and tradespeople.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and off-site locations throughout Ontario as required.
  • Safety equipment will be required, including but not limited to: CSA approved steel-toe safety boots and safety glasses.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.

 

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in scaffolding, construction, or related industries. Experience in estimating and package preparation is required.
  • PMP, CAPM, or other relevant project management certifications preferred.
  • Proven track record in business development, lead generation, and client relationship management.
  • Strong estimating skills with the ability to accurately project costs and prepare competitive bid packages.
  • In-depth understanding of scaffolding systems, construction safety standards, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and cost management for construction projects.
  • Familiarity with Labor relations and collective agreement management.
  • Familiarity with project accounting systems, Viewpoint an asset.
  • A valid class G Driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required

Salary Range: $80,000 – $135,000 annually.
