Job Title: Financial Controller
Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000 annually
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding the company’s assets, optimizing financial performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
This position is based out of our Stoney Creek, Ontario, office.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyze financial results and provide insights to senior management.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Develop and maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial laws, and corporate policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Strategic Support
- Partner with the CFO and executive team to support financial strategy and decision-making.
- Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis for strategic initiatives.

Educational And Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation preferred).
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in financial systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
