The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for a range of general accounting tasks but will be primarily responsible for performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the effective maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions and expense reporting.

This position is based out of our Southern Ontario office located in Hamilton, Ontario or Aurora, Ontario.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Accounts payable processing, including accurately creating, entering, sending, and filing purchase orders, invoices and payment tracking/reconciliation spreadsheets
  • Investigate and resolve invoicing discrepancies and misapplied payments
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments; prepare and perform cheque runs
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Create various report and conduct analysis
  • Assist in month end and year end reporting procedures
  • Perform filing and general administrative tasks to support bookkeeping and financial records
  • Proofread material for accuracy, completeness, compliance, formatting and correct English usage, including grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the team and the entire organization
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Good computer skills in MS Office; Viewpoint an asset
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, to multitask and respond to shifting priorities

 

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of relevant experience; construction payables experience an asset

Salary Range: $50,000 to $65,000 annually.
