Foundations for Ontario Line Tower Crane
Project Details
Client: Ontario Transit Group (OTG)
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Standing nearly upwards of approximately 60-metres high, a rail-mounted tower crane is helping bring the new Exhibition Station to life as part of the Ontario Line Rail Project.
Barclay completed the reinforced concrete foundation for one of three tower cranes supporting construction of the new station.
Constructed alongside the active GO rail corridor, the foundation was engineered to withstand the significant structural and operational loads associated with heavy lifting activities throughout construction.
The crane’s rail-mounted configuration allows it to travel along the work area, providing the reach, mobility, and flexibility required to safely lift materials over active rail infrastructure.
A strong foundation for a major transit infrastructure project.
